PCHR Warns of Further Deterioration to Humanitarian Conditions in the Gaza StripPCHR - Press Release - PCHR calls upon the international community, particularly the High Contracting Parties to the Fourth Geneva Convention, United Nations agencies and all international humanitarian organizations, to immediately intervene and exert pressure on Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) to reopen border crossings of the Gaza Strip, whose closure has caused further deterioration to living conditions of approximately 1.5 million Palestinians, who have suffered from shortages in foods, medicines and other basic needs, including electricity and fuel supplies. 20/11/2008
ISRAELI OCCUPATION FORCES STORM HEBRON COLLEGE AND ARREST EIGHT STUDENTS ADDAMEER - Press release - On the 30th October 2008, at 10:15 a.m. the Israeli army stormed the faculty of the Palestine Technical College in Aroub Refugee Camp, Hebron and arrested students from some of the classrooms. The students were blindfolded, shackled and then repeatedly beaten, slapped and punched all over the body. They were then taken to Gush Etzion military detention centre. At 9:00 pm two of the boys were released, however, eight of them are still in detention. None of the boys are older than 16. 20/11/2008

State to Supreme Court: Israel not Obliged to Permit Families from Gaza to Visit their Relatives Incarcerated in Israeli Prisons ADALAH - " On 27 October 2008, the Supreme Court of Israel held a hearing on two petitions filed by Adalah and HaMoked: Center for the Defence of the Individual, demanding that residents of Gaza be permitted to visit their Palestinian relatives around 1,000 people being held in Israeli prisons on a regular basis. The Israeli army has placed a total, sweeping ban on visits by the families of prisoners from Gaza since June 2007... transferring Palestinian prisoners from the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OPT) to prisons located within the Green Line violates international humanitarian law. Suffering of Gazan women increases with Israeli siege PCHR - Report - In relation to the Palestinian internal situation, the Palestinian women are still vulnerable to and victims of internal violence in different contexts. During 2008, PCHR documented the killing of six Palestinian women, four in the Gaza Strip and two in the West Bank, as a result of security chaos and misuse of weapons. PCHR also documented the "honor killings" of three Palestinian women, two in the Gaza Strip and one in the West Bank. 27/11/2008
