International Campaign to Protect Palestinian Residency in JerusalemISM - Press Release - Until now, many Jerusalemites avoid any reason to go to the MOI for fear of the Center of Life policy; it has been reported that even those who have never lived outside of the city have previously failed to satisfy the Ministry’s expectations on this measure. If Jerusalemites lose their residency status and are without nationality elsewhere, they become part of the city’s growing stateless population.-rh 31/7/2013
Settler `neighborhood` approved in East Jerusalem IMEMC - The Israeli Housing Minister, Uri Ariel, was strongly opposed to the staged release of 104 Palestinian prisoners, approved by Netanyhau`s cabinet. He took care to "counter-balance" it by on the same day approving a new settlement “neighborhood” in East Jerusalem. The plan was originally introduced in 2004 but rejected on the grounds that the planned constructions have high walls that violate the construction code. The Minister now revived it on the very eve of the Washington talks. ak30/7/2013
