The world is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people who are evil,    but because of the people who don't do anything about it

Everyday life at Qalandiya CheckpointNatanya Ginsburg - Machsomwatch - Such small examples of behavior at the checkpoints. No beatings. No arrests. Just a disgusting display by young people who will eventually bring back into Israel the equivalent of their behavior at the checkpoints …..and we will meet them serving us as civil servants, in the shops, sitting in Parliament, serving in the police force, driving on the roads …and when they treat us the same way that they treated the Palestinians we will wonder when and how we created such uncouth and unbridled specimens of humanity and what we have done to deserve to suffer humiliation at their hands.18/11/2009
Shot With My Hands In The Air (interview with Bil`in anti-wall activist Khamis Fathe Abu Rahmah)Jody.McIntyre - ctrlaltshift.co.uk - They shot one tear gas canister at me, so I put my arms in the air to show that I was unarmed and clearly posing no threat. Then the soldiers shot me again – this time, the high-velocity canister hit me directly in the head.18/11/2009
Israel challenged on Gazan`s ejection from West Bank - Student`s case comes as Netanyahu talks of easing restrictionsHoward Schneider - Washington Post - Her case has drawn high-level attention -- including inquiries from the U.S. State Department -- from those who question whether such a strict enforcement of the rules is reasonable at a time when Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu says he is trying to ease restrictions on Palestinians and encourage economic development as a way to progress toward peace. 13/11/2009
Invisible Prisoners - Continued : The Obstacle Race on the Way to a Magnetic CardSylvia Piterman - Machsomwatch - The Obstacle Race on the Way to a Magnetic Card is the first chapter of the continued report on The Invisible Prisoners, which presents the evidence of a special MachsomWatch team. This team has for four years assisted Palestinians blacklisted by the General Security Services (GSS, Shabak in Hebrew) to appeal their security blacklisting. While the team collects facts, and completes official forms, a harsh and hard to bear truth takes shape regarding the systematic permit policy applied by the Occupation regime.6/11/2009

Palestinian workers: We`re being treated like cattle Daniel Edelson - Ynet News - The 4,500 Palestinian workers who travel through the Eyal checkpoint, near West Bank city of Qalqilya, on their way to work in Israel, are finding it hard to enjoy the long-awaited winter. The checkpoint provides cover for those waiting to cross it, but its little shed can shelter about 100 people at the most, leaving the rest exposed to rain and cold winds. 4/11/2009
The Writing on the Wall Britain Eakin - MIFTAH - When we arrived in Qalqilya, my friend and I headed for the Wall walking to the Western edge of the town, until we reached what is now the outskirts of Qalqilya and its remaining farmland. In this particular area, the Wall is a massive and obtrusive structure reaching eight meters in height. I felt quite small standing next to it – not only in comparison to the Wall itself, but also in the face of the powers that allow it to exist. 4/11/2009
