The world is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people who are evil,    but because of the people who don't do anything about it
Siege, Wall, Checkpoints

Two years after Hamas seized GazaAyman Mohyeldin - Al Jazeera - " Two years to the day after Hamas took control of the Gaza Strip, the lives of Palestinians in Gaza have seemingly become inextricably defined by two crises. An internal political impasse has fragmented Palestinian society, reduced the credibility of Palestinian political leaders in the eyes of the public and derailed their people`s momentum for national liberation. Meanwhile, an Israeli-imposed, western-backed siege has created a humanitarian crisis for the 1.5 million people trapped inside Gaza. " 20/6/2009

you must be jokingAya Kaniuk - Mahsanmilim - It is not simple to travel from place to place if you are a Palestinian. The entire West Bank is a spider-web of prevention/check points. Everything is closured. And bifurcated. Smaller ghettos inside larger ones. Surrounded by barriers and Jews-only roads. Walls and soldiers with guns.25/6/2009
Israel`s Barnyard Strategy Joharah Baker - MMIFTAH - We have nothing to "thank" Israel for. The checkpoints should never have been there in the first place, just like the Israeli occupation. Even if Israel removed all of these checkpoints, making movement for Palestinians practically normal, this is still not enough. On the contrary, this is Benjamin Netanyahu`s master plan, to placate the Palestinians with economic enticements and easier movement in their own areas so they will back down on political demands. 25/6/2009
Gaza`s two years under Hamas: order and absurditySteven Gutkin and Karin Laub – AP/ Antiwar - “Two years after Hamas seized power, the Gaza Strip is a jumble of absurdities: an economy sustained by smuggling through tunnels, a civil service that gets paid on condition it doesn`t work, and a population no longer fearful of gangs but feeling muzzled under the thumb of Hamas” 23/6/2009
