Flotilla Gaza-bound again, as anniversary is rememberedRoee Ruttenberg - +972 Magazine - The Mavi Marmara is still docked in Central Istanbul, currently sealed off by customs officials Ö and police boats frequently patrol around. The IHH paid $1.2 million to acquire the vessel, and it has spent tens of thousands of additional dollars repairing it after it was released by the Israelis and returned to Turkey. The group says it is planning to help fund another fleet, called the Freedom Flotilla 2, loaded with aid and passengers, scheduled to sail in late June. 31/5/2011

Eiland: Let Flotilla Ships ThroughArutz 7 (quoting Kol Israel Radio) - Former National Security Advisor Giora Eiland, who was in charge of the IDF`s investigation of the 2010 flotilla, suggested that the IDF allow the next flotilla to reach Gaza, if Turkey is willing to accept responsibility to ensure that no weapons or items that could be used by terrorists are brought in. [Eiland at the moment holds no official position, but can be assumed to reflect an option considered in the political and military establishment-A.K.]31/5/2011

Fragments: The Nakba Day at QalandiyaTamar Fleishman - The Palestine Chronicle - The army directed and made the rules. The commanding officers made sure that it wouldn`t get out of hand and that there weren`t any abnormalities that would seem disturbing to the foreign eye. The hundreds of gas and stun hand grenade salvos that were thrown at the teenagers who huddled at a distant spot, were meant to confine them to one place: "So that the event won`t reach the checkpoint". The event didnít reach it. 26/5/2011

Israel in a Strategic Dead EndJonathan Cook - Counterpunch "Unlike previous years, this Nakba Day was not simply a commemoration of the catastrophe that befell the Palestinians in 1948, when their homeland was forcibly reinvented as the Jewish state. It briefly reminded Palestinians that, despite their long-enforced dispersion, they still have the potential to forge a common struggle against Israel." ca 20/5/2011

Part Two: When a Palestinian Child Becomes an EnemyJoseph Dana - +972 - The easy answer is that Israel has crossed a line of absolute racism and now it is beyond our control. It is a war to the end and all are targets. However, the genuine emotion of the brave soldiers who testify in this film (and with Breaking the Silence) makes this answer difficult to swallow. Watching their testimonies, I see that we have not crossed this red line because there is still moral quandary about our treatment of Ďthe enemy.í The reality is that we are simply too afraid to face the truth of our actions. 5/5/2011
