Israel’s Military Checkpoints are Places Made for Its Colonial Violence | Ramona Wadi - Palestine Chronicle - For Palestinians, Israel’s military checkpoints are made for its colonial violence and perpetual dehumanization of the occupied population. In the latest grotesque spectacle of extrajudicial killing, Ahmed Erekat, a 27-year-old Palestinian man and nephew of the Palestine Liberation Organisation’s Secretary-General Saeb Erekat, was killed by Israeli soldiers after losing control of his vehicle close to a checkpoint at Abu Dis. Erekat was on his way to pick up his sister as her wedding was taking place that evening. Israel claims that his intention was a car- ramming attack.(rh) | 30/6/2020

No exit for paperless Palestinians | Ola Mousa - EI - "Israel has final say on ID cards under agreements struck between Israel and the PLO in the 1990s. While it is the PA that issues ID cards, Israel issues ID numbers, without which the ID cards are not valid" [ry] | 29/6/2020

Qalandiya - the army destroyed again the fruit stand | Tamar Fleishman - Machsomwatch - One week after the Israeli army destroyed yet again Abdallah Tamimi’s fruit stand, I came to him as one paying a condolence visit. I came to Abdallah to tell him, wordlessly, how sorry I am about what had happened. I came to Abdallah to hear him, not to ask questions. Abdallah said it was on a Thursday that they (the soldiers) came to the stand and handed his father a paper that said that in one week’s time they would destroy the stand. Why? Because it disturbs traffic. And they (the soldiers) did come, but not in a week’s time. They 3 days later and destroyed. The financial damage is estimated at 6000-7000 NIS. (rh) | 23/6/2020
