BDS Statement of the Palestinian Federation of Unions of University Professors and Employees

The Palestinian Federation of Unions of University Professors and Employees (PFUUPE) wishes to reiterate its firm opposition to any bilateral or multilateral relationships between Palestinian and Israeli academic institutions. PFUUPE fully endorses the Palestinian civil society call for boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) against Israel until it fulfils its obligations under international law and, as part of it, the Call by the Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel (PACBI).

International Appeal to Bon Jovi: Cancel Israel Gig!

Performing in Israel is a rejection of the BDS appeal from Palestinian civil society. It would also seem like a rejection of your own sentiments. In response to a report about a young Palestinian boy under occupation, you sang: `Hook me up; everybody`s waiting for someday.`

Boycott the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra US Tour!

PACBI appeals to BDS activists in the United States to boycott the US tour of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra (IPO) in February and March 2011, due to its complicity in whitewashing Israel`s persistent violations of international law and human rights.

(La) MaMa: Legendary NY theater whitewashes Israeli Apartheid

By hosting an Israeli Dance Week, preceded by a gala to raise funds for it, La MaMa is in effect helping to whitewash Israel`s apartheid policies. Israeli dance companies sponsored by the State aren`t just accidentally implicated in Israeli policy -- they are active collaborators in it.

McEwan and Israel`s Accolades: Privilege and Ethical Responsibility?

Accepting the Jerusalem Prize, funded by a state practicing military occupation, colonization and apartheid, and hand delivered by some of this state`s worst representatives, in total disregard to Palestinian non-violent struggle for justice, cannot but call into question McEwan`s actual concern for freedom, human dignity and justice.

The Israeli book fair in Jerusalem is an important date on the Israel-promotion calendar, an occasion when Israel`s misleading image as a patron of book publishing and the arts in general is highlighted. The Jerusalem Prize is central in this deceptive campaign of diverting attention away from Israel`s persistent crimes and violations of international law.

At a time when the Palestinian civil society-initiated, global BDS movement is growing, the appeal to McEwan is not to cross the Palestinian, international, and increasingly Israeli boycott `picket line.`

USACBI to Macy Gray: Don`t legitimize apartheid

PACBI believes that thActivists, including courageous Israelis, are urging you not to go because performing in Israel today send a strong of approval of its occupation and violation of Palestinian rights.

Did Vanessa Paradis cancel Israel concert over politics?

Insiders who organized the Paradis Israel concert claim that the singer acceded to calls to cancel the show made by Palestinian solidarity groups.

BWISP: Implications of McEwan`s acceptance of Jerusalem prize

The Jerusalem book fair, which awards the prize, is organised by the Jerusalem municipality, a key institution of the Israeli state and a major instrument in the illegal colonisation of East Jerusalem.
