We’ve got one month!

The council of OECD is expected to decide whether to accept Israel as a new member state or not during the Council meeting 27-28 of May 2010. We believe that the favourable special treatment of Israel must stop and that the membership process must be frozen due to Israel’s repeated violations of international law and human rights, and because of policies in conflict with the OECD convention and official policies.

This is not meant to be a coordinated campaign but an encouragement for others to act against the Israeli membership. We will publish material and news on this page and call for organisations and individuals worldwide to act on this. Organisations against the Israeli membership will be linked from this page and we encourage spreading the site’s address and we welcome contributed material. OECD is expected to decide whether to accept Israel as a new member in May. Despite the limited time span to act we have a very feasible cause, that will shake Israel considerably.

Israel will be granted membership only if all 30 member states votes in favour of it, and we have got lots of strong arguments why they should vote against it. Any member state may stop the process and introduce political issues at any time during the membership evaluation process.
Current OECD memberstates are: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovak Republic, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom and United States.
