Demo Sunday 2.1.11: The President is not above the law nor is the Rabbi of Tzfat
Stop the racist criminals!
The President is not above the law nor is the Rabbi of Tzfat
Tomorrow, Sunday, January 2, 2011, at 15:30, at 16 Rothschild Boulevard 16, Tel - Aviv (in front of the hall where the Israeli Declaration of Independence was read) - there will be an emergency demonstration against racism, at the initiative of intellectuals and public figures.
After far too long a delay, the inciting leaders of the inciting rabbis` letter were summoned by the police, and they - public servants - refused to come.
We must act, in face of the inciting rabbis` audacity and the government`s very selective enforcement of the law..
Prosecution and dismissal of these people is not enough! In face of the abyss of racism exposed in the letters of the rabbis and their wives, in face of a government which is flabby in one direction and violent in the other, we must strive to make a complete change in Israel.
There are only two possibilities: either an enlightened and equitable country, or a racist dictatorship of violence which would lead Israel to destruction.
Among the speakers: Yair Garbuz, Dani Karavan, Yoram Kaniuk, Prof. Gabi Salomon, Prof. Nimrod Aloni and Sefi Rachlevsky.
In face of the gravity of the situation please make every effort to come!
