Today – Thursday, 8:30 pm, we shall rally in Tsahal Square, where East Jerusalem joins West Jerusalem, in order to say out loud, Israelis and Palestinians side by side – Ceasefire! This past week the city of Jerusalem has witnessed a wave of violence we have not experienced in a long time. Violence on both parts of the city is on the rise. On Thursday we will come together in order to say that violence could only lead to more violence. We have been in this situation before - during Operations Cast Lead, Pillar of Defense and now – Tzuk Eitan (“Operation Protective Edge”): Bombing which leads to rocket launching which then leads to more bombing – and so on. Revenge could only result in more acts of revenge. It’s time to break this vicious chain of violence, and act together in order to put our lives back on track and end this conflict. The rally is organized by the Combatants for Peace movement.and supported by Meretz, Hadash and Gush Shalom..
