The world is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people who are evil,
but because of the people who don't do anything about it

In spite of everything, it won’t end until we talk - J`lem anti-war rally
.In spite of everything, it won’t end until we talk
Today, Thursday, we will stand together, Israelis and Palestinians and declare –
enough.
Enough to the language of power, enough to the harm coming to innocent people,
enough to extremism, and enough of the unending rounds of violence.
On Thursday we will again together raise our voices, especially now with
violence leading to more violence. Especially now we must remember that there is
no military solution to the conflict.
Especially now we must refuse to surrender to the forces that are dragging us
all to another violent confrontation, that are leading us to further extremism.
We, as former combatants, Palestinian and Israeli, struggle together, non-
violently, to stopping the violence, end the occupation and achieve peace for
both peoples.
We decided to take our destiny in our own hands.
In recent weeks violence has been used against people expressing opinions that
are outside the Israeli consensus, in an attempt to silence the diversity of
opinions that has always characterized Israeli society. It is time to stand up
and say that we will not give up our right to express our opinions, and say in a
loud and clear voice – there is another solution. There is a way to break out of
the cycle of violence and to shape a better future.
We hope you will join us on Thursday evening.
