Let`s take on Goliaths!

What kind of year do you want it to be?
Yom Kippur starts tonight, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar. It’s time
for all of us to ask ourselves: Who do we want to be in the year to come?
What do we want to take on, and what do we want to leave behind?
I want to take on Goliaths.
Like Microsoft, which gave $31 million to AnyVision, a shady Israeli company
that uses facial recognition technology to surveil Palestinians in the West
Like the Anti-Defamation League, which maintains that Jewish support for
Palestinian human rights is as big a threat to Jews as white nationalism.
Like Christians United for Israel, the largest Zionist organization in the
U.S., which frames the oppression of Palestinians and Jewish ethnic
supremacy in Israel as necessary for bringing about the “end times” – and
whose leaders have the ears of those in the highest echelons of power in the
This year we’ve launched JVP Action, our new 501(c)(4) arm, which channels
JVP values into to winning progressive legislation, changing public
conversation, and electing progressive candidates.
We know that the challenges of 2020, and the fight against rising
antisemitism and white nationalism, are among the most pressing issues our
communities are facing.
We’re going to meet all these challenges like we always have: giving what we
have to give, when and where it can make the biggest difference.
May we all be sealed for a year of goodness.
