The Petraeus briefing: Biden’s embarrassment is not the whole storyMark Perry - Foreigh Policy - As early as January, General David Petraeus of the U.S. Central Command informed Chiefs of Staff Chairman Adm. Michael Mullen of the growing perception among Arab leaders that the U.S. was incapable of standing up to Israel, that CENTCOM`s mostly Arab constituency was losing faith in American promises and that Israeli intransigence on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict was jeopardizing U.S. standing in the region. The publication of this in the midst of the confrontation between Obama and Netanyahu seems far from accidental. 20/3/2010

Activists calling on the Pixies to cancel their concertJesse Bacon - theonlydemocracy.org - The Pixies are scheduled to play June 9th in Israel. And the folks behind the Boycott from Within are asking them not to perform. As someone who grew up in the wilds of Wisconsin, I know how music can reduce people’s isolation. I also know that the Palestinian revolution is still looking for its freedom twenty years later. And that’s why I admire the courage of the Israelis, Pixies fans even! who are willing to say “Don’t come.”7/3/2010
Haaretz via Herbert Pundik, trying to portray Mossad as a force for the GoodA respected Jewish-Danish journalist came out as an ex-Mossad spy. As Richard Silverstein notes, this is Haaretz joining the Dubai-damage-control effort on behalf of Mossad. But just like the assassination itself, this too might backfire big time: "The damage that Pundik does is in putting the integrity of all journalists into question. If someone of such apparent impeccable political and journalistic credentials as this man can join the spooks couldn’t anyone do so? And then, who does anyone trust when it comes to reporting on the Israeli-Arab conflict?"6/3/2010
