From Israeli citizens to UEFA/FIFA - Red Card to Israeli apartheid now! | | We are Israeli citizens, active against our government`s policies of
racism, occupation and apartheid.
Soccer/Football cannot take place without fair play. The Palestinian
people however, ethnically cleansed from their homeland and living
under Israeli occupation for decades, have experienced little fair
play from FIFA and UEFA. Palestinian daily life is dominated by
military orders which prevent any normal development of a
sustainable economy, including Palestinian football. | 30/3/2015 |

Israel lobby, UK officials attempt to shut down Univ. of Southampton conference | | Ali Abunimah - Electronic Intifada - The University of Southampton has
come under intense pressure over the conference “International Law and
the State of Israel: Legitimacy, Responsibility and Exceptionalism,”
scheduled for 17-19 April, and whose agenda also includes the
circumstances of Israel`s creation in 1948 and the massive expulsion
of Palestinians. Some of the vociferous critics have called for the
conference to be banned outright, while others are urging the
university to require pro-Israel speakers, on the grounds that the
conference is one sided. The university administration is upholding
the organizers` academic Freedom of Speech, while distancing itself
from the content of the conference. ak | 24/3/2015 |

"Women in Palestinian society are ashamed to discuss their problems with the male elders in charge of mediation committees. However, today, things have become easier for women, as the first female mediators have pushed forward social reform and now defend women`s rights in tribal councils headed by men. Gazans go to these councils to settle their family problems and avoid going to court, where the resolution process is much longer and complicated." ca | 13/3/2015 |
