Women`s Journey to Peace - Sept./Oct. 2017 | | Women Wage Peace - This week, tens of thousands of women embarked
upon a journey of hope and peace, in order to voice their
uncompromising demand for the resolution of the Israeli- Palestinian
conflict through a political agreement and the inclusion of women in
the negotiation process. The Journey to Peace begun at the end of
Rosh Hashana and will reach its high point during the week of Sukkot
in the Tent of Sarah and Hagar – a huge tent of discussions, hope
and peace, art and music, encounters and talking with the decision
makers. We, Jewish and Palestinian women, the daughters of Sarah and
Hagar, will sit together in the tent and we will ask to end the long
running dispute and we will call for the leaders of both peoples to
come to the tent and to begin continual negotiations there until an
agreement is signed. From the tent, we will continue to Jerusalem,
where we will launch the largest women’s congress ever. [ak]

150 Palestinians and Israelis mark interfaith new year in East Jerusalem with a street dinner | | Orly Noy - +972 - The settlers who proudly entered the Shamanseh’s home three weeks ago were nowhere to be found. Maybe they hid behind locked doors, listening to the Arab-Jewish party outside — a reminder of the days in which Jews and Arabs lived here side by side, and did not make a mockery of themselves by expelling children and the elderly from their homes. for decades to navigate Israel’s lethal obstacle course of bombs, bullets,

Is it possible to voice criticism of Israel`s government - in Munich? | | "Jewish-Palestinian Dialogue Group", Munich - The SPD-CSU majority
in the Munich City Council seeks to curtail the right of free
discussion in urban spaces and forbid criticism of the Israeli
government, labeling it "anti-Semitism". Should the Spd/CSU proposal
be adopted, many international speakers - including those from the
Israeli peace movement - would no longer be able to speak in
municipal halls. The lecture "50 years of Israeli occupation", which
Israeli journalist Gideon Levy (Haaretz) delivered in May this year,
would become impossible to repeat in the future. Even South African
Nobel Peace Prize laureate Desmond Tutu would no longer be able to
speak in Munich. [ak] | 19/9/2017 |

B’Tselem to Netanyahu: Demolishing Palestinian communities – a war crime for which you would bear personal liability | | Amit Gilutz - B’Tselem - Defense Minister Lieberman told the press
that preparations are made to totally destroy two Palestinian
communities, Susiya and Khan al-Ahmar - since its houses were "built
without authorization”. In response, B’Tselem sent a grave letter to
the Prime Minister, Defense Minister, Army Chief of Staff and the
head of the Army`s Civil Administration, cautioning that the planned
demolition would constitute a war crime for which all of them would
bear personal liability. The demolition of entire communities in the Occupied Territories is virtually unprecedented since 1967. Forcible transfer is one of the offenses that come under the purview of the International Criminal Court. [ak] | 5/9/2017 |
